Clothing / fit & sizing

Find your fit.

Measure close to the body, then use the guide below as a starting point. We can help you choose a size for the piece you have in mind.

For OGŪN tops, dresses, layers, trousers and shorts. These are body measurements, not finished garment dimensions.

Body size chart

Measure yourself and compare your chest or bust, natural waist and hip circumference with the table. These numbers describe your body, not a garment laid flat.

Between the listed ranges?

The shaded rows show measurements between two listed sizes. They are not additional sizes or confirmed fit ranges. Ask us for advice on the specific garment before choosing. If different measurements point to different rows, or you are outside the chart, contact us too. Get fit advice

Inch values are rounded. If you are close to a boundary, check your measurement in centimetres. At a shared boundary between two sizes, ask us which fit suits the style.

Measurements are body measurements, not finished garment dimensions. Inches are converted from centimetres and rounded to one decimal place.

Body measurements and garment fit

Garment measurements describe the finished piece, including its cut and intended room for movement. They differ from body measurements. Use the body chart to choose a starting size, and compare garment measurements only with another garment measured the same way.

Tops & outerwear

Prioritise the bust or chest measurement. Size up when you want a looser layer or more ease through the shoulders.

Trousers, shorts & dresses

Use your waist and seat / hip measurements together. If they point to different sizes, ask us for advice on the style you are considering.

How to measure your body

Use a soft tape measure over light clothing or underwear. Keep the tape level and comfortably close to the body—never pulled tight.

01Bust / chestMeasure around the fullest part, keeping the tape horizontal across the shoulder blades.
02Natural waistMeasure around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the navel. Breathe normally.
03Seat / hipStand with feet together and measure around the fullest part of your seat, keeping the tape level.

How to measure your garment

Choose a favourite garment with a similar fit. Fasten it, lay it flat on a smooth surface and smooth out folds without stretching the fabric. Follow the blue numbered lines in the diagrams. Open any diagram to view its labels at full size.

Flat width or circumference?

A flat width measures one side of a garment. A 50 cm flat chest width is approximately 100 cm around the garment. Double chest, waist or hip widths only when comparing with a garment circumference. Never double shoulder width, sleeve length, rise or garment length. The body chart above uses measurements around your body.

Chest width
Measure straight across the garment from underarm to underarm, as shown by line 1 on the shirt. This is a flat width.
Waist width
Fasten the waistband and measure straight across, edge to edge, as shown by line 1 on the trousers and shorts. Measure an elastic waistband relaxed unless a stretched measurement is specifically requested.
Hip width
Measure straight across the fullest part of the garment below the waistband. Record the point you measured so comparisons use the same position. This is a flat width; body hip measurements are taken all the way around.
Sleeve length
Top sleeve length runs from the shoulder seam to the cuff along the top of the sleeve (shirt line 3). Sleeve inseam runs from the underarm to the cuff (line 2). Compare measurements taken by the same method.
Back length
Follow shirt line 5 from the centre-back neckline to the hem, excluding the collar. Keep the garment flat and measure to the same hem point when comparing styles.
Rise and inseam
The rise shown runs from the crotch to the base of the waistband. Inseam runs from the crotch down the inside leg to the hem. Both are lengths, not measurements around the garment.
